Selanjutnya Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) kembali kepangkuan ibu pertiwi dan pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1945 Soekarno dan Bung Hatta memploklamirkan kemerdekaan Indonesia.Selama dalam kependudukan Jepang 3,5 tahun kekejaman dan kebiadapan tentara Jepang memang luar biasa, dengan dilakukannya sistim kerja paksa yang lebih dikenal ROMUSHA, bermula direkrut dari pemuda yang masih remaja umur 14-18 tahun. Korban-korban yang dibujuk rayu oleh tentara Jepang terutama dari pulau Jawa, akan di sekolahkan di Pulau Andalas. Tidak taunya dipekerjakan se bagai Romusha membangun lintas jalan kereta api dari Logas Kab Sijunjung Prov Sumbar sampai Logas Prov Riau yang jaraknya 220 kilo meter.Di daerah Ngalau Cigak Nagari Silokek lebih 6000 orang Romusha mati akibat tertimbun batu,sampai 2 bulan bau mayat sangat menyengat hidung. Siang disuruh kerja paksa mengebor tebing dan dipasang dinamit, malam hari para Romusha disuruh kerja lembur, kurang ajarnya tentara Jepang tebing itu diledakkan. `Untuk mengenang kekejaman tentara Jepang dalam pembangunan rel kereta api dari Muaro-Sijunjung Kab Sijunjung sampai ke Logas (Loge) Prov Riau, ribuan Romusha mati akibat kekejaman dan kebiadapan tentara Jepang selama 3,5 tahun tersebut. Salah satu saksi hidup mantan Romusha Suratman kakek berusia 85 tahun berdomisili di Jorong Silukah Kenagarian Durian Gadang Kec Sijunjung, dengan kondisi kesehatannya masih sehat, baik mata masih terang, telinga ju ga belum tuli, Suratman kelahiran Desa Somo Gede Kajoran Kec Wadas Lintang Kab Wonosobo Prov Jawa Tengah sejak umur 18 tahun dibawa oleh tentara Jepang dijadikan Romusha ikut membangun lintas rel kereta api Muaro Sijunjung Kab Sijunjung – Logas Prov Riau. Suratman sudah 67 tahun merindukan keluarganya di kampung halaman sampai saat ini tak pernah menjadi kenyataan. Pasalnya tidak punya uang. Sangat menyedihkan sekali. Potret diri seorang Suratman (85) memang hanya seorang desa yang sangat lugu laki-laki kealahiran Desa Somo Gede Kajoran Kec Wadas Lintang Kab Wonosobo Pov Jawa Tengah itu masa remajanya sangat tampak suram dan harus menanggung beban penderitaan hidup, Ketika umur 18 tahun orang tuanya juga sudah meninggal bersama Dulah (16) teman sekampungnya dibawa oleh tentara Jepang dijadikan Romusha (kerja paksa) ke Sumatera Barat pembuatan lintas rel kereta api dari Muaro Sijunjung Kab Sijunjung sampai Logas Prov Riau. Realitas kehidupan Suratman sampai ke pulau Sumatera sempat diceritakan secara panjang lebar, ketika Suratman sengaja dihadirkan di lokasi Cagar Budaya Lokomotif peninggalan Jepang di Jorong Silukah Nagari Durian Gadang Kec Sijunjung untuk di wanwancarai Priyono Mimbar Minang dan Aldian SCTV, yang di fasilitasi Dinas Parsenibudpora Kab Sijunjung dipercayakan kepada Paldi Mahendra SH. Dari kota Muaro Sijunjung ke lokasi Cagar Budaya Lokomotif peninggalan Jepang jaraknya kurang lebih 12 Km bisa di tempuh baik kendaraan roda dua maupun roda ampat. Jalannya menyelusuri kawasan Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Batang Kuantan, dengan pesona alam yang menawan. Bagaimana pak Suratman sampai menjadi Romusha bekerja di daerah Silukah? -Waktu itu umur saya baru 18 tahun bersama Dulah sekitar umur 16 tahun dari kampung langsung dibawa oleh tentara Jepang, alasannya mau di sekolahkan di pulau Andalas. Berangkat dari kota Ambarawa naik kereta api sampai di Jakarta (Tanjung Priuk), lalu menaiki kapal yang penumpangnya ribuan orang dan di kawal ketat oleh tentara Jepang. Selama 20 hari di laut sampailah di pelabuhan Teluk Bayur. Setelah turun dari kapal langsung naik kereta api menuju Muaro Sijunjung perjalanan ditempuh selama 1 Minggu ke daerah Ngalau Cigak Nagari Silokek bersama ribuan orang yang pada umumnya berasal dari P. Jawa dan sebagian di turunkan di daerah Silukah. Saya terkejut bukan di sekolahkan oleh Jepang kenyataannya disuruh kerja paksa menjadi Romusha. Kalau malam hari kerja lembur, ada yang mengangkut dan memasang rel kereta api, memecah batu dan meratakan jalan. Pada suatu malam saya sudah tak ingat lagi terdengar bunyi ledakan bom diatas tebing, lalu tebing runtuh dengan suara bergemuruh,dengan rasa ketakutan sambil berlarian, saya sempat menyelamatkan diri, namun terdengar pekikan, jeritan dan rintihan kawan-kawan Romusha, tidak bisa dibayangkan kesedihan malam itu, saya penasaran gerangan apa yang terjadi? Pagi harinya sangat terkejut terlihat ribuan mayat berserakan, ada yang tersangkut kaki atau badannya diatas pohon, ada yang kepalanya sampai terpental di ketemukan diatas bukit, bahkan tulang-tulang manusia berserakan di pinggir sungai Batang Kuantan. Sampai 2 bulan lebih masih bau bangkai menyengat hidung. Mayat-mayat yang berserakan, sebagian ada yang dikubur namun banyak yang langsung dihanyutkan ke sungai, semua itu saya lihat dengan mata kepala saya sendiri, kata Suratman, sambil berlinang airmata, masih tutur Suratman, para Romusha yang mendapatkan jatah mengangkut rel kereta api di panggul , 1 rel 7 orang, andai kata capai atau berhenti, ketahuan oleh tentara Jepang di pukul dan dikurangi orang yang mengangkatnya. Di seberang jembatan Nagari Durian Gadang tempat base- camp para tentara Jepang, ada rumah panggung disitu, diatas untuk para tentara Jepang, di bawah tanpa alas tikar maupun lainnya seperti kandang kambing untuk tidur para Romusha. Kalau masalah makan dan sakit bagai mana? Apakah diobat oleh Jepang? Kalau makan sehari cuma satu kali, tak sampai setengah kobokan cuci tangan, kalau sakit tidak pernah di obat oleh tentara Jepang, cari sendiri obatnya (istilahnya obat kampunglah). Kalau ada yang meninggal Romusha yang lain, sebagian dikuburkan oleh teman-teman Romusha, tetapi kerja tentara Jepang mayat Romusha di hanyutkan ke sungai saja. Di Silukah dulu ada tempat pesanggrahan, itu pusat para pejabat tentara Jepang, di dekat pesanggrahan sebagai tempat penyiksaan, kalau ada Romusha yang ketahuan mencuri makanan karena lapar atau melarikan diri dan ketangkap kembali, lalu di siksa dimandikan dengan air panas mendidih. Bahkan di Silukah ada tempat kuburan masal sekitar 34 Romusha di kubur satu tempat saja. Apakah dalam pekerja paksa itu di pindah-pindahkelokasi? -Memang betul kata Suratman. 1 tahun di daerah Silokek sampai Silukah saya di pindahkan di Lipat Kain Prov Riau, sampai Jepang menyerah kalah dengan Sekutu. Saya masih mengantarpara tentara Jepang ke Pakanbaru sekitar tahun 1945. Setelah menerima surat dari TNI bahwa sudah bebas dari Romusha menetap di Lipat Kain hampir 1 tahun dan akhirnya balik ke daerah Silukah. Kapan pak Suratman berumah tangga? Saya kawin waktu itu umur 40 tahun, mendapat jodoh orang Silukah namanya Si Nem, punya anak 3 orang, Zaenap Ombun dan Zaimar Ombun meninggal, tinggal 2 orang anak, dan saya sudah punya cucu 3 orang cicit 4 orang. Apaklah pak Suratman punya saudara di kampung dan sudah pernah pu- lang?-Sewaktu meninggalkan Desa Somo Gede Kec Wadas Lintang Kab Wonosobibo Karisidenan Kedu Magelang, saya anak nomor dua, yang tua namanya si Rus nomor tiga Karno dan si bungsu bernama Dulah. Yang namanya pulang kampung sudah 67 tahun belum pernah, karena tidak ada uang kerinduan kampung itu ada hanya mimpi yang panjang. Sekarang saya sudah tua, sudah tidak kuat lagi bekerja di kebun menyadap karet, saya tinggal dengan Zaimar menghabiskan masa tuanya. Seandainya pak Suratman diketemukan kembali dengan keluarganya di P.Jawa di jembatani oleh SCTV apakah bersedia? Trima, kasih saya mau, syukur kalau masih ada orang yang mau memperhatikan bekas Romusha yang masih hidup, kata Suratman sambil menitikkan air mata, tanda punya kesedihan yang dalam. Pesan terakhir pak Suratman kepada Pemerintah apa?Saya tidak punya duit, kalau saya sakit bagaimana untuk berobat. Saya ikut berjuang membangun lintas rel kereta api Muaro Sijunjung Kab Sawahlunto-Sijunjung- Logas Prov Riau, namun tidak pernah ada perhatian dari pemerintah,atau dari Negara Jepang sendiri. keluh Suratman. Di Nagari Paru masih hidup bekas Romusha, namanya Turijan (85) masih hidup berasal dari Jawa. Sutarman juga mantan Romusha di Nagari Paru baru meninggal sekitar bulan April lalu, dengan umur kurang lebih 115 tahun. Di Nagari Tanjung Kaliang Kec Kamang Baru ada mantan Romusha yang masih hidup Sukarno (85) masih sehat fisiknya.br /Mantan Wali Nagari Durian Gadang tahun 1969/1973 Abdhulrahman Dt. Bandaro Kayo yang lahir tahun 1930 salah satu saksi hidup kekejaman tentara Jepang terhadap Romusha sempat diwawancarai Mimbar Minang dan Aldian dari SCTV.Sebelum lokomotif yang ada di cagar budaya Jorong Silukah sekarang ini, pada tahun 1944 ada 2 lokomotif yang satunya berwarna hitam. Sebelum datang lokomotif tersebut selang sehari ada pejabat tentara Jepang datang mengendarai lori yang dirubah seperti mobil sedan mengadakan peninjauan. Beberapa hari setelah itu datanglah lokomotif pengankut logistic untuk kebutuhan makan baik tentara Jepang maupun Romusha dan lokomotif yang hitam di lanksir ke Muaro Sijunjung. Menyinggung masalah wanita penghibur khusus bagi pejabat tentara Jepang di Pesanggrahan Silukah di datangkan dari Lipat Kalin namanya Rohana dialah primadonanya. Bahkan ibu saya sendiri nyaris menjadi korban dikejar-kejar oleh tentara Jepang , untung diselamatkan oleh Sonco. Sedangkan untuk pemuas nafsu tentara Jepang lainnya itu diangkut dengan kereta api, ada dari arah Padang dan Riau, sehabis melayani dipulangkan kembali naik kereta api. Ketika ditanya, kenapa rel-rel kereta api saksi sejarah sudah pada raib, itu kan mengkaburkan sejarah, dan sebagai situs sejarah harus dipertahankan tidak boleh dihilangkan. Kata Dt Bandaro Kayo, kejadiannya ada istilah “Jeruk Makan Jeruk”. Pada tahun 1973, PJKA pusat mentenderkan bekas rel kereta api dari Muko-Muko sampai ke Padang Tarok Kec Kamang Baru, tendernya di Jakarta di menangkan oleh PT Wuhan di Tanjung Priok. Sebanyak 8000 batang/ 1200 ton rel kereta api dimana yang tertimbun ya di bongkar oleh si pemenang tender di angkut ke Jakarta. Saya tau persis itu, kebetulan waktu itu saya di pekerjakan oleh PT. Wuhan sebagai Sit Manager pengiriman bongkaran rel kereta api peninggalan zaman Jepang di angkut ke Jakarta, ungkap Dt Bandaro kayo. Kesimpulan; Para mantan Remusha yang masih hidup sekarang ini, yang sudah terpisah puluhan tahun dengan sanak keluarganya seperti Suratman dan lain-lainnya yang kebanyakan dari tanah Jawa, nasibnya sangat menyedihkan. Mau bertemu dengan sanak keluarganya hanya sebuah kerinduan tak pernah menjadi kenyataan sampai tulisan ini diangkat. Kepada pemerintah hendaknya turut pemperhatikan kepada para Romusha ini. Pemerintah setidaknya memperjuangkan nasib Romusha kepada pemerintah Jepang, apakah itu terkucur dana konpensasi/ menyantuni untuk para mantan Romusha, yang sampai sekarang secara psikologis masih trauma akibat kekejaman dan kebiadapan tentara Jepang waktu itu. Bila perlu di beri penghargaan atas jasa-jasanya ikut membangun walaupun kapasitasnya sebagai pekerja paksa zaman penjajahan Jepang.br /Aset cagar sejarah Romusha dari Muko-Muko sampai Padang Tarok yang telah raib, dijual oleh PJKA tahun 1973 pemenangnya tender PT. Wusan di Tanjung Priok Jakarta harus di usut tuntas. Masalahnya ini merupakan aset sejarah, berapa ribuan nyawa melayang untuk mewujudkan lintasan kereta api Muaro-Sijunjung ke Logas Prov Riau.
